I have deep experience as an attorney working directly with engineers and management from invention identification through to patent issuance. My further background in patent enforcement and defense helps me address and solve issues years before they become critical.
Fractional IP Counsel
I offer a flexible contract-based partnership program for small and medium businesses that provides experienced IP counsel without increasing your headcount. I integrate with your company to deeply learn your technology and provide the strategic legal planning to compete with larger companies. My services may also include virtual or on-site training, office hours, invention reviews, trademark and open source software management, and anything else you would ask of a full-time in-house IP attorney.

As a former startup employee, I understand the problems faced by growing businesses. Whether they are early-stage and barely thinking about IP, or have sophisticated outside advisers, businesses need legal expertise that not only invests in their success, but understands their technology fully, so that they can focus on their product while everyday legal problems are taken care of.
Although my career has been spent almost entirely in intellectual property, I have a deep curiosity about technology and a knack for picking up new things. I enjoy hobby programming and keeping up with open-source news. Working with clients in telecommunications, search, advertising, banking, satellite communications, solar power, and other industries, I love diving into new technologies while helping to grow businesses.
